Just save or export your PPT as a PDF? This embed tool just turns all copy in to an image, which looks a little blurred as well. once embed it will lock the copy up so you can not edit, so just PDF your deck, its better and free.
Love this APP - but gives me a headache
I bought this app couple years ago. Now it’s a miss and go. Sometimes it work other times it shows as damaged. Very irritating. Not worth your money or time anymore unless the developers update it. But when it works, it works good. Please do something about it, developers.
Great App!
I’ve been using this app for quite some time now and am absolutely thrilled with it. This app delivers everything it says it will and DOES NOT CRASH!!! Yay! It’s quick and effiicient and embeds all my fonts with a click of the mouse. If I had to change anything about this app, it would be…hmmmm…nope, it’s perfect!

I have already purcahsed this app and it was working great. Now all of a sudden it isn’t working. It went back to the trial version and when I press remove watermarks it will not let me restore my purchase. It says unknown error. I really need to use this app, please help me fix it. Thank you!
The one and only app that’s worth the money
I use Powerpoint a lot. Like, literraly A LOT. But anytime I want to present powerpoints that I made on other devices, my fonts were gone. Mac has no font saving feature embedded within the Powerpoint program so I had to try this app out. I guess I paid more than $20 for the full version that doesn’t show watermark of their own. Up to this date, my $20 something is helping me a lot. Thank you developers!

App damages MacPowerPoint?
Today I installed Presentation Font Embedder from the Mac App Store. On first launch, it indexed the fonts on my Mac -- with the warning text that this might take a while , Now, MacPowerPoint crashes immediately on launch. Restarted my Mac. MacPowerPoint still crashes immediately on launch. Help! MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), 16GB RAM macOS Sierra 10.12.6 MacPowerPoint 16.11.1
Didn’t work at all, even for true type fonts
installed the program, upgraded to non watermark. Upon save as no options are provided for embedding: either editable or otherwise. Probably there is a special trick to getting it to work but even with a masters degree in engineering and programming experience in C, Assembly, and fortran, I can’t find it. Will do a credit card dispute to get back my $25.
Works Great for Free Fonts, Can’t Embed Most Paid License Fonts
Font foundries have the ability to set restrictions for embedding fonts that they design. They may decide to restrict edibility of embedded font, or restrict embedding altogether. Be aware that if you paid for (licensed) a font, it is likely restricted from embedding and will not be embedded in editable mode. The workaround is to use the “universal” method which converts your fonts to images. This works pretty well, but some of your animations will be off—for example, if you have a series of bullets, they will become a single image. If you want to build them point-by-point, you’re going to have to put each bulleted section in its own text box. When Presentation Font Embedder encounters a font that is restricted for embedding, the font is skipped and a warning about this is shown in the results panel. If you’re a graphic designer who has paid for and used commercially licensed fonts, you’ll experience this issue often. Overall this is a useful tool if you realize what you’re getting when you go into it. It’s sort of a “best alternative” to getting someone to install the proper fonts on their system to view the presentation the way it was originally designed.
DO NOT BUY! SAVE $20!
First, the interface for this app looks like it was developed in 1989. What a horrible UX experience. Second, it just doesn’t work. And don’t try to talk to customer support; they insist that the problem is the fonts you are using, not the app software. This company won’t be around for long if they don’t improve their software and learn some basic customer service skills.
Does just what it says it will do
It works flawlessly. It can generate two kinds of output: “universal” doens’t embed your fonts, it makes bitmaps out of them in the destination Power Point doc — looks perfect. The other kind, “editable”, actually does embed fonts in the .pptx file. Use that approach if you want a document you or a recipient can open on Windows and modify (but you still won’t be able to modify the .pptx on your Mac). Those two approaches pretty much cover the universe of possible solutions to this annoying Microsoft limitation. I’m grateful the software developer identified this niche and filled it.
Not Worth The Money, Even If Free
This app does not do what it says it does. I bought and relied on this app to embed fonts in a Powerpoint presentation which I gave today. When preparing the Powerpoint file, I followed instructions. The app gave me a green arrow, indicating that the fonts were embedded with no errors. The presentation was sent to the event organizer, who loaded my file along with dozens of other presenations on a laptop computer. To my great surprise, my presentation looked like garbage. The fonts were wrong and simply horrible. Text overran text blocks, giving it not only an unprofessional appearance, but difficult to read as well. Don’t waste your money on this app. If you need to embed fonts in your Powerpoint, find a way to run the Windows version of Powerpoint and do it the way that Microsoft prescribes.
Does what it promises
Honestly a life saver! A good use of my money. Of course, like all these other reviews have said, you may want to update your PowerPoint app to the most current version to avoid any problems! Definitely worth its price. 10/10.
Works Perfectly
A real life saver as a student who loves graphic design but is a Mac user. Hopefully one day Microsoft will just let Mac embed fonts like Windows… But until then this does the job.
Works very well - just update PPT
As mentioned, the issues others are having seem to be from a need to update the version of PPT they are using. I just finished embedding fonts into three ppt files and testing and I can verify this app does as advertised. Now, if only MS will make this step obsolete.

Given the limitations of PowerPoint on the Mac, this handy little program does a fairly deft job of sidestepping the issues created by MS’s shoddy programming. It preserves the original content created on my Mac for sharing on other formats with perfect fidelity. All pictures, effects, animations, and transitions come across exactly as intended, and everything looks as polished and professional as it does on my Mac tower. There are some issues with embedding Adobe TypeKit fonts, but I get the feeling that that’s due more to restrictions on licensing than anything else, and certainly not the fault of PFE. Exporting in Universal mode, while removing the ability to edit the final presentation, embeds all fonts successfully, with no restrictions on license, source, type, or anything else. In short, this is a must-have for any PowerPoint power user, especially those who use fonts besides Calibri and Times New Roman, like graphics professionals. I’m not sure what all of the negative reviews are about, unless people are doing things seriously wrong. I have not yet had any problems with PFE (other than trying to embed restricted fonts as editable), and I have some crazy huge PowerPoints with tons of slides and text boxes. Still, PFE does a perfect job with all of it, and even manages to compress the Universal PPTs to 1/10th the size of editable versions, which makes huge presentations nice and fast in the boardroom. A great program to fill an obvious oversight by the necessary evil of a company that shall not be named, and I would highly recommend it for anyone who uses PowerPoint on a Mac.
It’s a Solution of some sort
Wish it had been a bit more clear that embeding meant turning all type to images… I bought this to make embeding possible on my mac, because this is something powerpoint for windows already allows, but found out after purchasing what that means is essetentially making your deck uneditable. Really dissapointing and almost pointless IMO.

TL;DR version: YES, it works. Loved the idea of this. Hated that it didn’t work for me and reached out to the developer (with an accusation of them taking money from customers with a non-working product). He was nice enough to take the time to respond and asked if I could send over a sample file of the PPT along with the failed embedded version that was outputted by the app. He got back to me within hours and told me that they determined my Microsoft Powerpoint was not up-to-date. I updated it, and sure enough—it worked. Saved me SO much time… rather than going in and converting each piece of text into an image and completely re-animating, I was able to simply separate some of the text pieces to accomodate for some grouped animations and then drop it into the app. Very, very happy with this product, and I feel bad I was so quick to assume the worst! Get this app!

doesnt work
Doesn’t work with Mac 2011. I feel violated and regretful for making this purchase. This app does not rock as advertised. 16 bucks down the drain.
DO NOT BUY - Universal embedding/image capture doesn’t work
This application does not work as advertised. I read the reviews and still bought it, thinking, previous reviewers don’t understand the limitation of “editable” embedding with TTF fonts only, etc. Surely, the universal embedding, which just saves each slide as an image that is NOT editable, will work just fine. I tried universal embedding on a presentation using Helvetica Regular and Helvetica Light. It did not work for labels on a graph (which is often what PowerPoint is used for) or italicized font (the spacing was screwed up). I’m not sure why saving as an image somehow screws up the spacing or how graph labels display. This is a waste of money. A lot of money, relatively speaking, for an app. Very frustrated! This needs to be removed from the App Store!
Nope
I too tried this, despite the negative reviews AND given I work on a Mac all day with the (unfortunate) task of trying to make PPTs look better. While I can embed the font and have it display on another machine - editing the text is simply out of the question - cannot do it. So…what good is this? Yay! II saved my animations but literally can’t edit anything else…nothing. Save the money - and wish most of the planet didn’t run on such a garbage program (Powerpoint).
The 1-star reviews are correct
Great idea. (Actually, a greater idea would be Microsoft not crippling their Mac version, but that's not the topic here.) I bought this in spite of the 1-star reviews, hoping I'd get lucky. Nope. The "universal" embedding method just produces hash on my screen; random sizes and positions of text. The "editable" mode looks better, but complains about fonts I'm not using (Helvetica Light and Helvetica Neue, that are not in my presentation), fonts that it can't find, fonts I don't have installed (then how am I able to use them?), fonts that can't be converted, even things like "Open Sans Regular" not being equal to "open sans regular." Sorry, I don't have time for this. I'll stick with emailing PDFs to Windows users. I appreciate the author's effort to get past Microsoft's inanity, but save your sixteen dollars.
Useless
Just purchased and it couldn’t embed either font, saying one wasn’t found on my Mac, and the other wasn’t suitable. Waste of money.
It worked for me in this situation
This worked fine for me - you can watch it processing each slide of your deck as it goes through. The cross-device aspect also seems to work: my presentation played and looked correct on my iPad. I suspect that folks who are reporting it isn’t working for them are using non-permissioned fonts. The fonts in my pres were Bebas Neue (a free font from Font Squirrel, dafont, etc.) and Open Sans, a free Google font. They are both OTFs but since they are widely available on the web for free, they must have open permissions in their formatting. I’ll bet if I tried this with an Adobe or House Industries font, it would not work. Just speculating. So keep this in mind when purchasing.
Did not work at all
I have a Macbook Retina and have a pretty simple situation of having 2-3 fonts that are typically not installed on the machines of my clients or others who need to review/co-development Powerpoints. I purchased the software ($15.99) on a leap of faith, but was quickly dissappointed to see that it did NOT install these fonts in the presentation. Even when I narrowed to a single font, it did nothing. People on receiving end did not have that font in the presentation. In my opinion a waste of money, and explains why there is no free or fremium version. No one would step up to paid. I’m wondering who the two 5-star ratings on the site are coming from?
Only Converts Text to Pictures
This does not convert the Open Type Font of a Mac to True Type Font that’s actually embeddable on Windows PC! It only makes an image of any textbox zones on the PowerPoint file on a Mac which renders the text UNEDITABLE afterwards. Some folks would like this but it does not work for me as I need to edit the texts in the future even after they are converted.
New version works fine!
I’ve used this application several times now for company presentations and it’s always worked fine. System incompatibility drives me nuts! I’m a visual person and this app allows me to keep my presentations consistent and have total control. It looks like the problems the earlier version was struggling with have been fixed. I’ve never had any complications.
DOES NOT WORK! Don’t Waste Your $$$
We use Lato at my company, I took our PowerPoint with Lato fonts and followed the directions. I sent it to a collegues computer that does not have Lato installed and when it was opened Lato fonts were not there… very disappointing.
Doesn’t actually embed typefaces
I used the typeface “Montserrat" in PPT, dragged it into this program to embed the typeface, then tested it on a different computer that doesn’t have the typeface and it did not show up.
